In order to meet the growing need of providing self employment opportunities to the weaker sections of society, DSIIDC constructed 29 CWCs in various JJ Colonies in the National Capital Territory of Delhi in the year 1975-76. The Government of Delhi also transferred 25 other CWCs consisting of approximately 2919 Work Spaces located in the various resettlement and JJ Colonies in the National Capital Territory of Delhi, during the year 1991-92. All these CWCs have been spaces consisting of one room of varied sise and they have been allotted to individuals belonging to the weaker section of the society.

This scheme was aimed at providing self employment specially to the family members of individuals among the weaker sections. DSIIDC initially on license fee basis from the various allottees against the CWCs constructed during the year 1975-76 by DSIIDC. In other, CWCs which were transferred to DSIIDC by the Govt. of NCT of Delhi, the work spaces were allotted to individuals either on outright sale basis or on Hire Purchase basis.

DSIIDC has now assessed that a large number of allotments have changed hands and allotees have transferred the work spaces to other individuals because of various reasons. Considering the large scale changes in the original allotments without the approval of DSIIDC. The Corporation has offered various schemes to enable new purchaser to continue with their occupation by availing various facilities like loans from Financial Institutions, electricity directly from Delhi Vidyut Board etc.

"A Scheme for Out Right Sale/Transfer/Regularisation of work spaces in our various Community Work Centres has been formulated and all the Original Allottees who are in possession of these work spaces or the present occupants who have purchased these work spaces from the original allottees can get these work spaces transferred in their name after making full cost of the work spaces along with payment of Transfer Charges wherever applicable."
